MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man was taken to a hospital early Wednesday morning after being struck by flying debris while traveling along an interstate in Mt. Juliet.
The Mt. Juliet Police Department said the driver called 911 sometime around 5 a.m. to report that he had been shot while driving down Intestate 40 West near mile marker 226.
However, officials later confirmed that the man was struck by a piece of metal road debris that went through his windshield.
The metal fragment reportedly caused a minor injury and the man was taken to a local hospital.
No additional details about the incident were released.
