NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Tennesseans in cities across the midstate gathered for the "No Kings Day" demonstrations happening nationwide Saturday.

In Nashville, large crowds of people gathered in the north lawn of the Tennessee State Capitol early Saturday morning. Protesters in Clarksville lined up along Wilma Rudolph Boulevard holding signs.

The rallies are part of a series that began in June protesting the Trump administration. According to the No Kings website, the goal of the protests are to declare that "America has no kings, and the power belongs to the people."
